O The “waterPlanes” should now cover “terrain” completely (if it doesn’t use the arrows along the X & Z-axis to move it) O Select the transform group “waterPlanes” and exchange the values for “Scale X” and “Scale Z” with “2.1” O Click Window -> Attributes (a new column called “Attributes” should open up) O You should now be able to see that it covers approximately 1/4th of the “terrain” If you import the “waterPlanes” raise it above “terrain”.

If you import the “careerStartPoint” do ctrl+b and click the map -> that way it will be oriented according to the ground (avoiding placing it in the ground).Click File -> Import… -> and then search for the i3D file you’d like to import. Now open up your empty x16 map in the GE.To do so you select the according transform group -> File -> Export Selection with Files… -> yes when you are asked whether you want to get the parent directory structure (in case you are asked whether you want to keep the game relative paths just click no ).Now open up the original map and export the “waterPlanes” and the “careerStartPoint” Open the map i3D file with the GE and delete everything except for “perspective”, “sun” & “terrain” Exchange this with the value “4” and save. The default value for a standard size map should be “1” and for a x4 map it should be “2”.Press Ctrl+f and search for “unitsPerPixel”.Right click this file and open with Notepad++.Navigate to maps -> and then the i3D file of the actual map which you can open in the GE.That way later in the x16 map you’ll start with a completely empty map ready to be shaped according to your preferences.

I was able to create completely empty flat maps that can be edited in the GE. Aight so I faced the same problem and I might have found a solution to it.
